National Elementary School
National Chess Championship
in Atlanta
Isaac and Orly are both on their school chess team
Deer Isle school won the Maine State chess championship and therefore came to the
national championship which happened to be in Atlanta this year
This is Orly and Isaac's first national tournament and each of them won 4 of 7 matches
Their team came in 15th and they took a large trophy home
Over 2,000 students (6th grade and younger) participated
We hosted a dinner for the team on the night they arrived![]() |
